SWMCDC offers classes to help people understand the process of buying and owning a home. First time home buyers, at all home prices and incomes, need to prepare for homeownership. Learn about the following topics:

  • Managing your money
  • Understanding credit scores
  • Getting a mortgage loan
  • Shopping for a home
  • Simple home maintenance
  • Managing your finances after you buy
  • Building a team of people to shop for a home
  • Making an informed purchase that will be sustainable for the homeowner

All our education and counseling services are FREE.

 

Pre-purchase Education for Prospective Home Buyers

  • See us and get pre-qualified for a home loan
  • Pre-purchase Personalized Counseling
  • Enroll in our pre-purchase home buyer Fast Track program so you have the latest thinking and coaching about whether buying a home is right for you.

 

Home Buyer Pre-Purchase Education Classes

Classes include are you ready to buy a home, what are the requirements, credit scores needed, down payment and programs that offer down payment/closing cost assistance, reviewing legal documents. (Participants may qualify for $1,000 down payment assistance at closing.)

When: Thursdays 6:00 – 8:00pm for 4 weeks
(Daytime classes available for 2nd and 3rd shift workers – as needed)
